About us
Hi! I’m Deanne. I am a single mother of two boys and I have a passion for sensory issues. Now, I'm sure you think that is a weird passion but let me explain….. As a child I struggled with school. My mother went so far as to have me tested to see if there were any issues. While the testing showed I had an above average IQ, it didn’t find anything to explain my struggles. Our knowledge has come so far since the mid 1980’s that I can be confident in saying that while the diagnostician didn’t find a concrete issue, I know now from my research and knowledge of my own body that I have dysgraphia. I hate handwriting anything. The pain is and has always been awful. My handwriting changes for the worse the longer I write. I much prefer talk-to-text or even typing. These options weren’t available to me in school. Fast forward to my own boys entering school….I was a preschool teacher when my boys were in preschool and early elementary school. Our school had teacher development days and brought in a special speaker to discuss the autism spectrum in adults and children. Wow! What a lightbulb moment for me. I realized that the things my youngest son had problems with at home, in school and out in public were autism related. He was tested and found to be on the autism spectrum and had dysgraphia. I was a mom on a mission. I researched his specific symptoms and looked for work-arounds, solutions and aids. I wanted my son to thrive. We worked on social aspects in counseling. We worked on school aids in class with his teacher. I worked on making our household as sensory responsive to my son as I could. I found it so difficult to find the products I needed. I had to really look for and research the best products to handle the issues we were facing. It was exhausting. Exhilarating. And lonely. After these experiences, I had an epiphany. I wanted to help others who had sensory issues in their lives streamline the process so that they could find items to make their lives easier. I wanted to make a business that alleviated the stress of finding items that worked for sensory issues at work, at school, in public and at home. Everyone deserves to be their best and most comfortable selves no matter where they are. While it took a few years, I am finally living my passion to help others find the products that will help them thrive in their lives. I could not be happier to help you find solutions to your sensory needs. Thank you for allowing me to be a very small part of your life.
